The project is to create an overview of the AH&LA Minimum guidelines for “Going Green” you can find the guidelines at the AHLA website: http://www.ahla.com/green.aspx

The assignment is to choose a hotel located on Long Island and identify green operating activities that will reduce resource use, while assuring guest and staff comfort, for all of the major operating systems of the hotel.

Discuss how the property design incorporates a green guideline. Using building materials, Furniture Fixtures & Equipment as well as wall coverings, flooring and floor covering and other interior products and materials that will ensure the hotel will meet the AH & LA guidelines for a Green property.

This project will be due in class on April 16th. Your Paper will be in length 4 to 6 written pages and should include a citation page written in MLA format. Be sure to use the College’s library database to find other resources to include in your paper. The database can help you locate additional articles that can help contribute to the operational actives that you have identified for the property.

This project will include an overview of your hotel location, the type of hotel with a description and the stepsof how you will implement the green operating activities and designs.
