For your individual projects, you’ll write a paper on your idea (outline is below) and create a mobile application prototype representing your idea

Part I

  • Submit a paper (5 – 6 pages, lines 1.5 spaced MS Word or PDF format only) outlining your idea/concept using the following content outline:
    1. Idea – What problem does your app solve? What user need does it meet? Explain using product-market fit terminology (Chapter 1 – The Lean Playbook)
    2. User Personas (minimum of two personas: a primary persona representing a majority of your app’s target audience and a secondary representing a minority of your app’s target audience). Use This Person Does Not Exist (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. as the “faces” of your personas, and include the typical attributes of a persona (e.g., name, photograph, job title, demographic, needs/goals, motives, attitude, frustrations, level of expertise, product usage, technology adoption, etc). Use Chapter 3 of The Lean Playbook for guidance
    3. Features – What functionality would your app use to solve a problem/need?
    4. Workflow – How will a user interact with your app? Think about a diagram which shows the screen flow of your application. Feel free to use tools like Marvel’s Userflows (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (strongly recommended) or draw.io (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. or, if you make your screens first using Marvel,

    1. Models – How will the data be grouped or categorized? Think about how a structor class might be used to display data
    2. Views – What kind of data will each screen display? Describe EACH screen in detail (screen names are encouraged – e.g., login screen, post screen)
    3. Controllers – What will each screen enable a user to do? Think about the kind of code a viewcontroller would contain which enables user interaction (e.g. touch up inside, scroll, etc.)

I strongly recommend reviewing and highlighting the MVC pattern (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site., Apple’s MVC Documentation (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site., and the App Canvas to assist with providing sufficient detail on each outline item
