A Certified Nurse Aide was transferring a 94-year-old patient in a nursing home from a wheelchair back into his bed when the patient slipped, fell, and broke his arm. The nursing home rules state that two CNAs are required to transfer a patient. The CNA then asked another CNA to lie about the incident and claim that she was helping to transfer the patient when he fell. That information was then entered into the patient’s medical record. What do you think probably happened to the two CNAs once the truth was uncovered? Why? Using your favorite search engine, locate another case in which a patient’s medical record was falsified and discuss the results of the case.
